Viktor Petrovich Goremykin is the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation and Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which is the central military-political management body carrying out military patriotic work in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He is also a Member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Defence of Russia and former Head of the main personnel department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In his current role, he is responsible for the organisation of military-political work within Russian Armed Forces.

He is therefore responsible for, supporting or implementing actions or policies which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
